Dedicated warm white channel
The single biggest visible difference in this category. A color-mixed white reads a shade cooler and slightly less even, and warm white is the setting most houses sit on all year.
LED spacing

Closer spacing reads as a continuous line rather than a string of points. On a broken-up roofline you will not notice; on a long straight two-story eave you will.

What you look at from the street is the diffuser, not the diode. It is the part that decides whether the run is a line of light or a row of bright dots.

Extruded aluminum, screw-fixed
A rigid extrusion screwed to the fascia holds a straight line for the length of the run. Adhesive and clip mounts are the ones that sag and lift.

Per elevation and per fixture type
Zones are what let the back of the house stay dark while the front is lit. They are wired on install day, so this is decided before anybody drills.
Dimming

Dimming is how a color stays clean rather than turning to glare. It matters most on a low ranch elevation close to the street.

Good hardware fastened badly fails before cheap hardware fastened properly does, and the failures in this category are workmanship far more often than product. That is why the crew who measures your house is the crew who fits it and signs it off.

The roofline run and nothing else, and we will say so at the table. On a run this length in one color, the money is better spent getting the line straight and the terminations sealed than on anything added to it.

The roofline run, plus soffit fixtures wherever the overhang is deep enough to take them. This is the house where the spacing and the straightness of the run are visible from the street, and where the wash off the soffit does something the trim line cannot.
